When I refer to design I mean graphic design. The term graphic design can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer may use typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result. Graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.

Common uses of graphic design include magazines, advertisements, product packaging and web design. For example, a product package might include a logo or other artwork, organized text and pure design elements such as shapes and color which unify the piece. Composition is one of the most important features of graphic design especially when using pre-existing materials or diverse elements.

We think about many things when designing for you. The typography is extremely important. You want to use a font that is easy to read, and at the same time describes your business. With the advent of the internet you can not choose whatever font you want for the content of your website. The new consideration is that you have to choose a font that is on the computers of the people viewing your website. This is by far the largest problem that print designers have with making websites. Print designers think they can choose any font for a website but there are only a handful to choose from. The way many designers fix this problem is by putting the content in an image or flash. The problem with that is the search engines can't read content in an image so google and yahoo don't see what your website is about and therefore you are placed lower in the search results for the products or services you offer. What is the point of spending a lot of time on your website if no one will see it?

The next most important element of design behind typography is color. Many times you want to choose colors for your business that "pop". Certain colors really pop next to each other. The colors across the color wheel from each other really pop when placed next to each other. For example red next to blue. Not everyone wants to colors that are high energy next to each other and opt for soothing colors like colors next to each other on the color wheel. It all depends on what services you offer and how you are going to be marketed, color is extremely important.
